About the Role The Athletic in partnership with Wondery Media is looking for a Podcast Editorial Producer. In this role, you will be a cross-functional leader responsible for the daily programming and production of an in-depth sports podcast. You will help launch a daily show that will stand out from the noise of sports media by bringing a refreshing, investigative, story-driven approach to the biggest stories in sports. You are an experienced editor who can juggle with the best of them. You know good storytelling when you see it. You are driven, passionate and can look beyond merciless 24-hour news cycle. Responsibilities Facilitate daily communication between TA and Wondery Maintain short- and long-term sports event calendar Monitors TA content and identifies best stories for daily show Collaborate with key stakeholders, writers and editors across TA's network Ensure daily show aligns with TA's voice, standards and best practices Assist with technical training and coaching of TA writers Research and write for daily segment Leverage metrics to offer timely creative feedback to TA writers Provide post-show notes and feedback to key stakeholders Ability to work remotely and coordinate with editorial staff based on individual schedules (including some nights and/or weekends) Requirements 6+ years experience Experience in sports digital media planning and programming Passionate about strong storytelling Organized multi-tasker Sound news judgment Self-starter Excellent communication skills, written and spoken High quality control Ability to manage your time across several work streams Proficient in Associated Press Style Prior experience in newsroom, radio, podcast or other audio/video environment The Company is backed by Founders Fund, Evolution Media, Courtside Ventures, Comcast Ventures, Bedrock Capital, Advancit Capital, Y Combinator, and other leading investors.
