SPECIFICS To be headquartered in Los Angeles, CA (2019) with a satellite office in New York. The games will be hosted in a tour-based model, setting upon different cities over the course of 14 weekends. There will be 6 teams that play 1 game per weekend, with all 120 players coming into market for each weekend. With a weekend pass, a fan will receive access to the best players in the world, playing for their team's ranking and right to the championship weekend. OVERVIEW The Premier Lacrosse League is seeking a Producer-Editor that will lead the production, packaging and content creative for media that lives on PLL's digital and social platforms. As PLL is launching in the spring of 2019, the Producer-Editor for PLL will be leading efforts in content capture, production, and the overall narrative for the best lacrosse players in the world forming a new league, with a strong emphasis on storytelling through the candidate's editing capabilities. When capturing this original content, this role should think about how the stories of PLL players will be framed, edited, and presented across PLL social and digital channels, as well as delivery of content to PLL players, with the goal to grow PLL player social footprints. This Producer-Editor should understand how to not only produce compelling content, but also the type of content that lives across multiple platforms (e.g., dot com, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter). KEY OBJECTIVES / RESPONSIBILITIES Lead development of original content that tells the story of our league, our players, and how PLL is helping to bring more prominence and popularity to the sport of lacrosse From idea inception to storyboarding, to planning production shoots, to the writing and content capture itself, and leading the charge on edits to create the final product, this role is creating cutting-edge content from scratch for use across platforms Identifying new and exciting stories to tell about the players of PLL, as well as then determining the most appropriate way to produce the content for distribution; this role should have just as much talent producing/editing on a phone as from a higher-end prosumer camera Building relationships, production schedules, and content creation methods, all geared toward PLL players; this includes the ability to bring the best out of players during production shoots, and determine the right content to create for each player based on each player's personality Manage a group of shooters/producers/editors, both in the field as well as in an office environment; this includes abilities to manage not just their creative product, but also how each individual works with their peers, players, teams, etc. Manage the editing process start to finish for each project. Interface across PLL departments (sponsorship, marketing, promotions, operations, consumer products) to understand media needs and package and how this content can be produced for multiple PLL platforms Design animations and graphics for videos that will further enhance the content Create and cut specifically sized posts for each social platform REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION Reports to PLL's Manager of Content Bachelor's degree required, nimble production background preferred Minimum of 3 years experience working in the digital/social content and production space Must have superior communication, organizational, and project management skills Must come from a multi-platform background, understanding both strong digital and social content, but also experience producing higher-end features Exhibits excellent work ethic, strong problem solving skills, and tenacity when it comes to shooting, producing, and/or editing the story A data-driven thinker with the ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment Detail-oriented, self-motivated and results-focused with strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and ability to adjust to changing priorities.
