Associate Audience Engagement Editor

TIME is seeking a Hong Kong-based Associate Audience Engagement Editor to help manage TIME’s global social audience of 41M+ followers. We are looking for a self-starter with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate should have a background in journalism with a passion for social media and audience growth. 

 

Responsibilities: 

·       Post daily to TIME’s Facebook, Twitter, LINE and WhatsApp accounts 

·       Follow breaking news and collaborate with Hong Kong editors to help package and promote stories across TIME’s social platforms 

·       Conceive of and pitch Reddit AMAs, Twitter Moments and Instagram Stories 

·       Work closely with the New York-based Audience team to develop TIME’s posting strategy and voice across social platforms 

·       Report and track metrics from platforms like Apple News, messaging apps and social media to inform strategy decisions 

·       Remain on top of social media best practices and industry trends, serving as the in-house social media expert for TIME’s Hong Kong bureau 

 

Qualifications: Recruitment

·       At least 1 year of social media experience 

·       Experience working in a fast-paced newsroom environment 

·       Excellent editorial judgment, strong writing skills and a knack for crafting catchy headlines 

·       An interest in developing platforms and identifying new trends in social media 

·       Basic understanding of SEO best practices 

·       Experience using Google Analytics 

·       Familiarity with using data tools like Parse.ly and CrowdTangle 

·       Proficiency in Mandarin/Cantonese a plus
