Assistant Teaching Professor - Broadcast & Digital Journalism

The Broadcast & Digital Journalism Department at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is seeking an experienced multimedia journalist to join our team on a two-year contract as an Assistant Teaching Professor. Continued employment beyond the initial two-year-appointment is possible.

We are looking for a journalist who has a successful track record of reporting and/or producing news on multiple platforms including television, online and through social media. Specifically, the ideal candidate will be equally at home reporting and/or producing news for traditional broadcast distribution as well as distribution through online and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Anyone who may lack traditional broadcast experience but has led a digital team at a radio or television station is also encouraged to apply.

Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not required. A master's degree is preferred; a bachelor's degree is required. It is important candidates have solid, up-to-date skills and enthusiasm for training tomorrow's journalists and will share our department's commitment to diversity and inclusion in journalism education.
