Broadcast Engineer

Job Description

The Broadcast Engineer will be a member of a team responsible for supporting the NFL Films Post Production and Studio Production facilities. This position will have a critical role in servicing and maintaining various traditional and IP based production systems, meeting the highest standards in performance and reliability. In addition, this position will also contribute to the design and integration of new and/or updated technology solutions for the post-production and studio production environments.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support to system operators utilizing various production client systems (editors, graphic artists, sound mixers, colorists, media managers, etc.)
  • Support studio production for daily live programming
  • Develop and maintain a complete understanding of the technical facility, including but not limited to the central data storage system, digital asset management platforms, structured cabling infrastructure and the production workflows they support to ensure timely and thorough resolutions in event of system interruptions or failures.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance service on production systems to guarantee consistent performance and the highest level of dependability.
  • Thoroughly test all firmware/software updates and security patches prior to deployment in the production environment.
  • Collaborate on design, create standardized documentation and assist in integration of new system installations.
  • Constantly look to improve on the overall resiliency, serviceability and security of the production environment
  • Support strategic planning and implementation of production disaster recovery efforts


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent work-related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a broadcast/post-production engineer in a television broadcast /post-production facility
  • Extensive knowledge and experience supporting many of the following broadcast and production systems:
    • NLEs - Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer
    • Live Studio Production Applications - AP ENPS
    • Transcoding - Telestream Vantage
    • Color Grading - DaVinci Resolve
    • Live Ingest/Playout - Primestream Fork, EVS
    • Media Asset Managers - CatDV, Avid Media Central
    • Audio Post Production - Fairlight
    • Graphics (Post) - Maxon Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects, Autodesk - Smoke/Flame
    • Graphics (Real-time) - Vizrt
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Mac, & Linux operating systems
  • Experience supporting large networked data storage systems in a production environment
  • Proficient in design/drafting software (AutoCAD, Vizio)
  • Working knowledge of LTO data storage systems
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Comfortable serving in both a supporting and ownership role depending on the project
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment for installation and maintenance service as required

Expected Hours of Work:
  • 40 work week but must be available for early morning, evening and/or weekend shifts depending on specific project requirements.
