We are looking for a lead social editor to help bring this social voice and content strategy to life. Creativity, passion, and a desire to be 'first' will all be critical in supporting the growth of the Yahoo Sports brand and affiliate social handles as we seek out new audiences and continue to delight existing audiences. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter that thinks creatively about how to cater to sports fans on various social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) and feels energized and challenged by contributing to them. Responsibilities: Help execute daily publishing strategy across all Yahoo Sports social platforms and ensure it is being followed by Social Media Editors Manage and organize social media calendars the team by sourcing fresh, engaging content and writing concise copy Work collaboratively with video, editorial and marketing teams to plan social activations Develop expertise in optimizing content strategy based on insights by platform Interact with the audience with a unique voice Work with Yahoo Sports talent to better bring insider knowledge to sports fans Assist onsite in video shoots or with Yahoo Sports editorial talent to capture social footage Qualifications: 2 to 5 years of experience in professional social media Professional experience in online and mobile programming/production, social media, content curation Proactive creative thinker constantly focused on growth Flexibility with scheduling is a must as sporting events will dictate schedule Strong copy and grammar skills are a must Willingness and experience working on tight deadlines Keen eye for what will resonate with the audience and go viral Ability to communicate learnings to the content team Proficiency with social CMS and data tracking
