Content creator and lead producer for US Open and USTA social media platforms. Works closely with other members of the Content Team to plan and develop compelling content. Digital storyteller who develops and executes ideas that will generate audience excitement and engagement

  • Develops, edits and programs content for use on US Open and USTA platforms
  • Works collaboratively with fellow content creators; takes part in regular brainstorming and pitch sessions
  • Works with the broader Content Team to create unique content around key initiatives and as events unfold in real-time
  • Works closely with designers and videographers for content production needs
  • Oversees a monthly content calendar, ensuring production resources are in place to execute ideas and vision
  • Manages direct reports and freelance resources; oversees workflow and production schedules
  • Supports the development of team members and demonstrates a positive and passionate attitude
  • Maintains quality control procedures and ensures all copy is fact-checked and images are brand appropriate while adhering to brand standards and established voice across platforms
  • Ensures all content is properly tagged (e.g. handles, hashtags, geo-location etc.) and correct links are used
  • Generates ideas for content or activations that come to life on social media channels
  • Grows reach and engagement across social media platforms
  • Stays abreast of daily topical news and trends as it relates to tennis, pop culture, travel and lifestyle
  • Flags and escalates any potential issues e.g. monitoring negative sentiment
  • Leads daily curation of user-generated content and identifies brand advocates
  • Results driven; leverages meaningful conclusions and learnings from KPIs and engagement metrics to improve content performance
  • Maintains content lists e.g. birthdays, national hashtag days, handles of influencers Stays informed of all corporate marketing moments and how they relate to our content calendar

Qualifications/Other:

  • Position requires a high degree of creativity
  • Must have sound judgment and decision-making skills and have the ability to multitask and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to work well both in a collaborative, team environment, as well as independently in creating and posting content without supervisor approval
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience developing content for use on social media platforms. Experience in field production and/or creation of photos, videos and graphics is required.
  • Background in tennis or sports content preferred; strong interest in tennis required
  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in related field e.g. journalism or communications preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the social web including content creation, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms
  • A leader with strong communication skills and the ability to lead full-time staff and contractors
  • Strong copy and copy editing skills as well as editorial judgment and creativity
  • Superior computer skills, proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Adobe Photoshop
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment
  • Excellent project management skills, well-organized and a p ositive and proactive attitude
